I have a sitemeter down at the bottom. Every now and then, I take a peek to see if anyone's visiting, and if they are, how they found me.
I notice that there are some regularish* visiters - some that I know, some that I don't. For instance, someone from Germany checks in on a regular-ish basis. And I know that there are some bbc girls. And a certain Aunt-o-Callie. But only like 4 girls that ever comment. Unless you count my two anonymouses**.
Leave me a comment, wouldya? Say Hi, say I'm brilliant, say my babe's the cutest thing ever. Say something so I don't feel like I'm talking to myself. Just don't say anything mean. I like to think that the World is Nice.

*As regular as a sporadic poster can possibly expect. Let's say there are visitors that visit more often than I post...
**Is there a correct plural form of anonymous? No? Because "anonymous" is an adjective, not a noun? Oh.

Hi! Just one of your BBC girls checking out your blog. I can't believe she is so big! It seems like she was just born...time sure does fly by.
Hi, sweet Jenell!
*wave wave*
Thanks for coming by, AND for commenting.
:)
Oh - and Jenell - Sometimes it flies, sometimes it stands still. Usually the opposite of what you want.
Indulging you : )
Hi, Kelly! How's your munchkin? I was thinking about you the other day. I need a more light-weight bigger girl sling. Got any suggestions?
How does Callie like most to be worn? On the hip? On the front? What kind of carrier are you using now? I would say that a mei-tai is your most versatile option, as you can front, back, or hip carry with it. I switched to mei-tais when E hit about 16lbs. I have also gotten alot of mileage out of my EllaRoo Mei-Hip, which is a a hybrid of a mei-tai and a sling that is especially designed for hip carries. It's great for going to the store because it has shorter straps than a regular mei tai and they don't drag on the ground. If you're a wrapper there are a whole lot of lightweight/solarveil options too. Let me know what you're most interested in and I can point you to good places to pick up a carrier or two for way off retail. :)
That was fast!
Hip or front, probably. I use a new native pouch-ey type of sling now, but she gets cranky after a little while of cradle holding - she wants to be upright and looking around. I'd like something that I could take on and off without a bunch of complicated fixing and un-fixing... and being able to throw it in a diaper bag easily would be a bonus... :)
I raspberry you. :P
:D
When are you coming over? I've had these steaks thawed for months.
Gauntlets - months, huh? Probably outta go on ahead and grill them up. I'm thinking maybe the end of the summer, if all goes well. Labor Day-ish?
Sorry for not getting back sooner - teeth are bad here.
I still think a mei-tai is the way to go, though it does not roll/fold up as compact as a pouch sling due to the long straps. A Connecta is a mei tai that has buckles instead of long straps and might do the trick if compactness is an issue for you. Connectas are pretty $$ as they aren't made over here, but sometimes you can get lucky on the For Sale Or Trade boards at thebabywearer.com or diaperswappers.com. Check out frogmama.com's clearance section - I've gotten good deals there on a couple of things.
Also - do you hip carry with your pouch? There are youtube clips that show how. That's one way to get some extra milege out of it.
Nicely priced Connecta here:

And there's always lots of MTs to choose from there too.
Kelly - if one were handyish with a sewing machine, do you think that a mei tai could be easily made? Probably should purchase one and use it as a pattern?
I know that there are patterns available out there on the internet. Most are free for your use so long as you aren't manufacturing to sell. You might want to browse the forums at thebabywearer.com or google mei tai pattern and see what you get. As I can barely sew a button I've never looked real hard in that direction but there are alot of mamas that make their own.
Here ya go! A mei tai would fall under the Asian Inspired carrier type.
