1) how old was your child (were your children) the first time they spent the night away from you?
2) what were the circumstances?
and 3) are you, as the Mama, really supposed to be able to relaaaax when all of your chickens are not in the nest, where they're supposed to be?
Just wondering.

HA! Relax- HA! Ariana stayed with Nanny and Pop-Pop overnight when she was almost 11 months old. It was our anniversary and no- I wasn't able to relax. We stayed in a B&B on the beach and I we had to leave the pier twice that evening because I was uncomfortably engorged and had to pump.
I think the first time we spent a night away from the kids was when our third was weaned at 14 months. We tucked them in at Grandma's and threw ourselves an anniversary party. I was a bit nervous about it, but as everyone had such fun I don't think I'll be nervous leaving them with Grandma once #4 is weaned here in a few months. :D
y'all put me to shame. Claire was 3 yrs and 3 mos when we left her overnight for an out-of-state wedding. I was an absolute wreck, mostly because my in-laws are very obese and sedentary, and I knew they wouldn't follow her around. No one died or got a broken bone, so it all worked out. I cannot fathom leaving a 1-yr-old, but that's because I'm a control freak.
