Pictures!

Daddy put together the high chair tonight - and Callie thinks she is a Big Girl in it!
We love it. The lovie is covering up kind of a mini-tray, then there is a normal sized cherry wood tray, plus a clear plastic (easily washable!) tray that fits over that.

Poor baby fell asleep in the middle of tummy time!
Notice the fingers in the mouth. :)
All dressed up for church!

4 Month Stats

This morning (4 months, 9 days) Callie was 13.8 pounds, 24 3/4 inches long - both 50th%. I don't remember her head size, but it was 75th% (all the better to hold her magnificant brains!)

She rolls both ways, grasps things (and brings them to her mouth), and scoots - but does not bring her legs up under her body. She talks and talks and sings herself to sleep and blows raspberries like no one's business.

Fun with poop.

This morning, I learned why All Those Mamas keep the gigantodiaperbag stocked with at least three or four baby outfits, and maybe a change of shirt for the Mom.

It was sudden, explosive, and stinky. The baby smiled, cooed, and sang through the whole event. Then, it repeated.

4 Month Pictures

Four Months!

Playing in her room... before we know it, she will be crawling.
Well, as soon as she figures out how to get her legs up under her body...!

The Great Debate: Is she teething? Lotta hand-knawing going on these days.

Four Months Old!

Callie is four months old today!

In the last couple of weeks, her nighttime sleep pattern has "regressed" - she's waking up 3-5 times a night again, but is settling herself down 1-2 of those times. The rest of the time she is HUNGRY! I hear that there's actually a term for it and that, at this time, babies are gearing up for a developmental growth spurt at about 20 weeks. That makes it a little easier to bear... I'll get up a couple of times in the night if it means a smart daughter...

During the last week or 10 days, she's learned to blow raspberries and will hold an entire raspberry conversation with you for about as long as you can stand it. :)

Thursday (the day before yesterday), she also learned how to roll back to front. In the morning, it seemed like it was by accident - she just got her legs going so much and happened to have her "wing" in the right position, but then, she did it a couple of times at the babysitter's and REALLY got going Thursday evening - front to back, back to front, front to back! It took me longer to lotion, diaper, and dress her Thursday night than it took to bathe her!

We've discovered that she likes to be held up, airplane-style, and she likes it even more if you give her a little toss while you've got her up there. Think that means she'll like roller-coasters? Wes won't get on them and it sure would be nice to have someone to ride with me... ;)

Breastfeeding-wise, I'm keeping up with her! YAY! If I weren't so tired of pumping, I could probably be more successful at building my freezer stash back up... but right now, I'm probably adding 10-16 ozs over a weekend, and I'm okay with that for right now.

My sweet girl is getting bigger every day and is so happy and healthy and I just feel so blessed to have her. We'll take pictures this evening and post later.

Randomness

Leslie made us this blanket for Christmas. She is a woman of unending talent, love, and all-around wonderfulness and is among the bestest of Godmothers!
Callie is losing her hair. It's rapidly falling out on the top (giving her a mullettish hairdo) and then she's rubbing off a strip across the back... oh, to have enough hair to do piggies like Cousin Haley's!

And here is Cousin Haley, helping me to change Callie's diaper.
Haley calls Callie "Cal-Babe", which somehow turned into something that sounds like "Gobbie". I don't know if Cal-Babe is actually her name for Callie in particular or if it's a generic for anyone smaller than Haley. My sister reports that all of Haley's babies are called Cal-Babe!
